Catherine Martin for Precinct Committee Officer
Hello, I’m Catherine Martin and I’m running for PCO of Lake Precinct. A little bit about me…..
-
It is my responsibility to take our local needs to the state Representatives. I have taken the time to get to know the candidates over the last couple years and want to help my community learn more about who is running this year.
-
is because they just don’t really know anything about the candidates and it is much easier to skip it, especially during the primaries. I thought I could help by offering up some insight and info on the candidates I really like for our area. The SnoCo Freedom First home page covers more about our group but this page is dedicated directly to our own neighborhood precinct. I’ve done some of the legwork as well as have personally talked with many of the candidates this year already. Based on that, here are my picks and why I like them….
Catherine’s Picks
State Representative
Re-Elect Robert J. Sutherland
The 39th Legislative District is somewhat unique as it covers a vastly diverse landscape and population stretching from through the mountainous regions of the cascade mountains, much of Everett, Lake Steven’s and Marysville area as well as most of Skagit County. First and foremost I am definitely not what you’d call a typical politician. I am an independent thinker and voter with two guiding principles, is it legal/right and is it best for my children and grandchildren. I am a retired Biochemist & a veteran, who is dedicated to my role as State Representative year around. Representing the people of this legislative district is a full time effort, one in which I gladly take on without the distraction of any other political or career job pulling me away from my primary focus.
I subscribe to the core beliefs of the Republican party platform. God and Country first and foremost, Individual Liberty, and freedom of personal choices, smaller localized government, fiscal responsibility.
I would greatly appreciate your vote.

US Congress 8th District
Matt Larkin
US Congress District 8th
Scott Stephenson
US Congress District 8th
Scott was raised in Wisconsin with strong Midwestern values that instilled in him a love of family, an intrinsic sense of what is right, good manners, personal responsibility, and a strong work ethic. Trimming tree plantations with a hand saw, working landscaping in the heat of summer, and flipping burgers at McDonalds taught him the value of money and hard work. Family time revolved around the out-of-doors, skiing, hunting, fishing, canoeing, and exploring the wilds of Wisconsin and Minnesota.
An inherent drive to set and achieve aggressive goals propelled Scott to the top of his class at University of Michigan, where he graduated summa cum laude in Aerospace Engineering. Awarded a full grant from the US Office of Naval Research and a prestigious Draper Fellowship, Scott earned his Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from MIT, specializing in flight control systems. During his thesis research, Scott had the honor to work with NASA Space Shuttle astronauts investigating the effects of space flight on the human body. After graduation, Scott joined the Aerospace Corporation in Los Angeles, where he wrote complex computer simulations of USAF launch vehicles and satellites.

No Children – No Future
Contrary to what the radical Left may believe, our children belong to us, not to the “State.”
Our kids are constantly bombarded with racist, anti-family, anti-American ideologies, including CRT, and the radical trans agenda — something my family has experienced personally in the public schools.
Across the country, parents are standing up against the institutionalized grooming, sexualization, and indoctrination of our children. I proudly stands with moms, dads, and families who are fighting back to protect our children.
-
No Border – No Country
We are experiencing an unprecedented invasion of our Southern border. Since Joe Biden took office, more people crossed our Southern border illegally than live in King County, Washington (2.4M). If this continues, the entire social fabric of our country will be forever altered.
The economic cost of the Left’s open-borders policies is unacceptable, but the human cost of their radical open-border agenda is unforgivable.
We must take immediate action to ensure that NOT ONE MORE woman or child is smuggled into the United States and sold by traffickers, NOT ONE MORE family has to bury a loved one from an overdose of Chinese Fentanyl carried across the border, and NOT ONE MORE American is the victim of a crime committed by an unvetted immigrant in our county.

No Secure Elections – No Republic
Let’s be very clear — the 2020 election was stolen.
Dead people voted. States changed laws unconstitutionally. Ballots were illegally harvested and trafficked. Big Tech, mainstream media, and others colluded to interfere, including by actively suppressing the Hunter Biden laptop story.
-
American families are being crushed by the policies of this administration and the weaponization of the New Green Deal agenda. Historic inflation is driving up the cost of everything driven by sky-rocketing energy and fertilizer costs and unnecessary regulations that are devastating American farmers, truckers, and businesses.
-
The weaponization of the administrative state and censorship of Conservative ideas online are a huge threat.
I have >30 years working in tech, specifically on the internet, and when elected, I will be the most technical person ever to serve in Congress. I will use that experience to bring Free Speech back to the internet and hold Big Tech accountable.
-
We are constantly lied to and no one is held accountable for ANYTHING. It’s time to return honestly and integrity by refusing to “move on” from corruption and illegal activity.
Secretary of State
Tamborine Borrelli
Tamborine Borrelli is the only candidate in this race with the experience, knowledge and ability to implement a valid solution to election fraud. She gained this deep understanding first as a board member of Election Justice USA (2016) and as the Director of Washington Election Integrity Coalition United (WEiCU) since 2020.
-
Replace Washington’s insecure mail-in voting process with convenient in-person voting requiring valid I.D.
Remove every ‘hackable’ electronic voting machine.
Hand-count paper ballots at the small, local precinct level with full citizen oversight. Ballots counted on Election Night
-
Unlike her opponents, Borrelli is not an ‘election season’ newcomer to fighting for Election Integrity; she has even taken legal action against another Secretary of State candidate in their role as County Auditor for not conducting transparent elections.
Borrelli is determined to shine the light on election irregularities. She has filed eight lawsuits to gain access to 2020 ballots to verify the evidence uncovered by her Election Integrity watch group, WEiCU.
-
Washington voters were sold on the convenience of mail-in voting without being informed as to the unverifiable accuracy of their intended vote. Many people from both sides of the political spectrum know that our current mail-in system simply cannot be trusted. The citizens of Washington have a right to know the truth and have their vote counted correctly.
“True Election Integrity has nothing to do with Politics. It’s about having the freedom as an American to have the beliefs you choose, having the right to vote in favor of that choice and having it count. Without that we will never truly have a Democratic Republic. Only the illusion of one.”
~Tamborine Borrelli Director of Washington Election Integrity Coalition United (WEiCU)
US Senate
Tiffany Smiley
US Senate
I am running for the United States Senate to help Washington families achieve their American Dreams. I believe that now, more than ever, Washingtonians need a voice in finding solutions to their unique problems, and countering Washington, D.C.’s endless divisiveness, radical partisanship, and gridlock.
-
In April of 2005, Tiffany’s dreams changed in an instant. The phone rang, and moments later Tiffany knew that their lives had irrevocably changed forever.Tiffany learned Scotty, while serving America in Iraq, had been severely wounded by a suicide bomber, causing him to fall into a coma and permanently lose sight in both of his eyes. Upon hearing the news, Tiffany immediately booked a flight for Walter Reed Medical Center near Washington, D.C, to be by Scotty’s side. When Tiffany arrived, Scotty was still in trauma care, and she was informed that Scotty would never be able to serve his nation again in uniform. Tiffany was even asked to sign a document, right there on the spot, consenting to Scotty’s immediate discharge from the Army.
The U.S. Military learned about Tiffany’s strength, courage, and resolve that day when she promptly refused. Rather than simply going along with Army protocols and the federal bureaucrats who were insisting she immediately sign the paperwork, Tiffany fought for her husband, his dreams, and for the care she knew he had earned. Tiffany pushed aside her professional dreams to focus on nursing her husband back to health, and fighting to ensure that Scotty’s recovery would not be compromised by inefficient government bureaucracy. She was determined that he would never become just another number in the unreliable VA system. To this day, Tiffany and Scotty have made fighting
to ensure every veteran gets the benefits and care they deserve one of their highest priorities.
The farm girl from rural Washington took on the federal government… and won. Tiffany not only made sure Scotty received the care he needed, but her relentless efforts allowed Scotty to demonstrate that his remarkable abilities greatly outweighed any disability he sustained. Scotty went on to serve as America’s first blind active-duty Army officer, breaking barriers for many who followed along the way. Scotty would also earn his MBA from Duke University and was described by Duke’s Legendary basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski as an American hero.
Tiffany’s positions
-
From aerospace to information technology, Washington is a leader of American’s 21st century economy. But growing up on a farm, I know Washington’s economy is more than multi-national corporations. Our diverse economy demands common-sense ideas and a commitment to problem solving for the good of our state.
Tax and regulatory reform over the past several years have been a terrific boost to our economy, but the past year has shown us that our economy still demands leadership to ensure our future is bright. We need stronger trade policies like the USMCA that are fair to Washington’s businesses, workers and farmers. At the same time, we must continue regulatory reform and cooperation that ensures we protect our environment and grow our economy. This is critical for Washington’s future.
I will also work with Washington’s vital agriculture community to protect our family farms and ensure that our agricultural industry continues to thrive. Washington farmers can never be put at a competitive disadvantage with other states or countries.
But regardless of whether your family works on a farm or in a high-tech industry, ensuring our economy has the workforce ready to lead us forward must be a priority. This will take education policies that give workers the training they need to succeed in the workplace and immigration reform that secures our border and strengthens Washington’s economy.

A suicide bomber in Iraq blinded my husband 16 years ago, but it opened our eyes to the failure of our federal government to protect and support our heroes in uniform. The bureaucracy in Washington, D.C. can overwhelm a Washington State family, and this was something I never truly appreciated until I traveled across the country to care for my husband. I took on the Veterans Administration because they were failing my family, and I won because losing was not an option.
But my family’s story of victory over federal bureaucrats is the exception, rather than the rule. Far too many desperate veteran families face an uncertain future that is filled with mountains of paperwork and excuses. It makes absolutely no sense to burden families who have given so much with so little support from the government they swore an oath to defend.
And while they may not face suicide bombers in our streets, our hometown heroes in blue are equally in need of our support today. Radical efforts to “defund the police” are wrong-headed and undercut the foundation of our lawful society. Our law enforcement and first responders need our support, resources, and improved training to meet the needs of our communities.
Our troops on the frontlines, our veterans on the home front, and our first responders in our communities should be saluted for their sacrifices. I am committed to fighting for our local heroes and ensuring they receive the resources they need at every level of service, because our support is what they deserve.

The 2020 elections raised serious questions about the integrity of our elections and caused millions of Americans to question their confidence in our electoral process. Instead of thoroughly addressing these concerns, uncovering any irregularities and reassuring voters, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have dismissed their frustrations. Even worse, they have doubled-down by ignoring the problems in our system and worse, proposing sweeping changes that would truly put our elections further in jeopardy.
Across the country in Washington, DC, Senator Murray has abandoned her role as a leader for Washington State. Senator Murray is one of the leading proponents of radical changes that would federalize our elections, even allowing for ballot harvesting that would open our voting systems up to rampant fraud and abuse. Let me be clear, I oppose S.1/H.R.1 and I am committed to holding Senator Murray and the far left accountable for this overreach.
What our system needs are commonsense solutions that are overwhelming supported by the American people. Reforms like implementing Voter ID, modernizing local county voting systems to ensure the voter rolls are kept up-to-date, and signature/photo verification on mail-in ballots would strengthen our elections. Just as important, I believe that courts have an obligation to give all evidence of voter fraud a full and fair hearing.
Each day, I'm speaking with voters in every corner of our state who strongly support these reforms to help ensure the integrity of our elections. They want real action taken to ensure that efforts made to increase voter participation do not fundamentally undermine the legitimacy of our democracy. Despite what the Biden Administration believes, there must be confidence that our elections are honest and transparent and that only legally-cast ballots are being counted.
When coupled with making the first Tuesday in November a national federal holiday to enable people to proudly exercise their right to vote on Election Day, these are the type of measures that would return confidence to our electoral process at a time when far too much is dividing us.

As the mother of three boys, I wake up every morning committed to passing on a brighter future to them. And that future begins with their education.
Despite the best efforts of so many of our teachers, the past year of distance and remote learning has shown all of us the holes in our education system. We need to empower Washington families to choose the education that is best for their children. My boys, like your children and grandchildren, have unique talents and face individual challenges, and our education system must work to meet their needs so they can succeed in their futures.
Failures in our education system trickle down to the problems we see every day on our streets. The homelessness, increased crime rates, drug addiction, and poverty in our communities is not something we can turn a blind eye to. This problem demands a solution that lifts people up rather than tying them to yet another failed government program that spends billions of our tax dollars, with little actually reaching those in need.
Real world problems demand common sense solutions. As your senator, I will work each and every day to solve these problems, not take part in the partisan infighting that has paralyzed our government. Our children, our families, and our neighbors deserve more than they are receiving from the federal government, and I am running for the U.S. Senate to serve as our advocate in Washington, DC.
