from the next precinct over in 2019. Perfect timing to grab some space so our kids have plenty of space to run and play over the last couple years. We have 4 kids of our own, 2 of which are fully grown but still close to home, the other two are still in middle and elementary school in the Marysville School District. We see first hand the changes being made to our curriculum be it history or health or even the basics of science and mathematics. We have experienced first hand, activist teachers implementing their political biases on their grading scale. We have endured the hybrid school system and the toll it took on our own children as well as most others in the community.
We have also looked on with concern as our community crime rates, drug abuse and gang activity soars. We’ve experienced outrageous spikes in as our taxes shoot through the roof, that’s property, fuel, sales, dining not to mention Inslee’s attempts to add income and capital gains taxes to our plates as well.
I don’t know about the rest of you but for our household, we have had enough. We can not afford more taxes on top of more taxes topped with more taxes. Especially when we see very little to no benefit from such increases. Much of our region now pays hundreds extra for their tabs to fund a train system they may use once or twice in their lifetime should they decide to go to a ball game. This is just one example of many where the government has decided to spend what they don’t have because they are allowed to pass the bill to the working class people within their own community, that’s you and I. Our system allows a perfect solution, when our government no longer works for us they get fired and replaced.
This is one reason I have personally spent countless hours in the last year working on election integrity issues. I like probably most as a conservative didn’t believe our friends from the Democratic party as they claimed Trump had stolen the election by vote flipping and election fraud. (See HBO’s Documentary “Kill Chain”, where I wisened up to the reality establishment politicians on both sides have benefited from the broken system) I suddenly had to at least entertain the possibility after staying up all night Nov. 3rd 2020 watching all the shenanigans of the night and early the next morning, the 25 plus hours of testimonies of poll workers and witnesses that played out over the next several months, the current state of our nation, and months of canvassing efforts have proven to me a very broken and vulnerable system we as citizens and our representative government have to fix. I’ve personally seen the broken system first hand and would be happy to share the things I’ve learned if you’d like to know, feel free to ask me.
I am someone who values personal rights and freedoms but am also analytical in that I see why people are drawn to one party or the other. I see why someone would never vote for an R or a D depending on their personal belief. I’d simply encourage you to reflect on what you see happening currently and ask does your own party actually reflect the values you hold dear or has your party shifted one way or another? Does your drop dead issue that has prevented you from voting for the other party still exist. I know many people who do not feel their own best interests are being represented in Olympia and or DC yet without the best info in hand they either choose not to vote at all or they pick the party they have chosen forever just because they feel it’s the closest match. What I’ve found in the last few years is our parties have shifted, the establishment of both may as well be the same party unless we get active to change that, and the core of both parties, the people, are both generally good. We have to put the partisan politics aside for the betterment of our region, our nation and really the world.
-
with the Republican party because I believe my positions align closer to that party on most key issues, don’t get me wrong, I see issues with both parties honestly, I just believe after digging into the histories of both parties that I have a better shot of helping fix one side over the other. My key issues of concern are, tax rates are breaking our backs with no sign of relief, where people with fixed incomes are literally being priced out of their homes, crime is on a constant rise and our laws have made it harder to keep us safe, drugs continue to flow into this country unchecked and our personal liberties and freedoms are under constant attack by the government who is supposed to be restrained by the constitutions of both the state and nation but no longer act as though laws even apply to the upper echelons of the establishment from either side of the aisle.
-
is because they just don’t really know anything about the candidates and it is much easier to skip it, especially during the primaries. I thought I could help by offering up some insight and info on the candidates I really like for our area. The SnoCo Freedom First home page covers more about our group but this page is dedicated directly to our own neighborhood precinct. I’ve done some of the legwork as well as have personally talked with many of the candidates this year already. Based on that, here are my picks and why I like them….
Duane’s Picks for Roncrest Precinct
39th LD
Robert J. Sutherland Rep 39th LD
The 39th Legislative District is somewhat unique as it covers a vastly diverse landscape and population stretching from parts of Northern King county, through the mountainous regions of the cascade mountains, much of Everett, Lake Steven’s and Marysville area as well as most of Skagit County. I have personally gotten to know Robert over the last year or so, and first and foremost he is definitely not what you’d call a typical politician. As a matter of fact he is a thorn in the establishment political classes side. The issues he takes on are not necessarily favored by the establishment of any one party because when something is wrong it’s wrong, and that is NOT different because you joined one party or the other. Robert is a retired Biochemist & a veteran, who is dedicated to his role as State Representative year around, 24/7. Representing the people of this legislative district is a full time effort, one in which he gladly takes on without the distraction of any other political or career job pulling him away from his primary focus.
I also appreciate the fact he judges bills he votes on or even writes himself by these 2 criteria. 1) is it legal according to the Constitution of the US and or state and 2) is it good for our children or grandchildren. Seems simple enough, if only the rest of our government considered things this way.
-
Robert prides himself on the fact that he’s literally had to object to bills being floated on the floors of congress in Olympia with the phrase, “forget about all other aspects of the bill, it is simply ILLEGAL PERIOD, IT IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL. While that may seem silly and honestly it should be, it unfortunately is not a compass most in Olympia or DC for that matter use in their assessment of bills they decide to pass.
-
When it’s wrong it’s wrong and Robert let’s them know. He has been involved in fighting for our civil rights, our God given, Constitutionally protected rights. He has pushed for election integrity, lower taxes, removed (and paid for) state level property taxes, revisions of assignine criminal protection/ handcuff our police officers from doing their jobs.
-
the Republican party. God and Country first and foremost, Individual Liberty, and freedom of personal choices, smaller localized government, fiscal responsibility, don’t spend what you don’t have and be considerate of the constituents of your district when looking at budgets and how we fund them, and last but not least free enterprise, it is a core strength of our nation for the everyday citizen to be able to participate in creating jobs and personal income with as little government intervention as possible.

US Congress
Vincint Cavalari
US Congress District 1
I will make public safety a top priority. The American people have the right to expect safe streets in their communities. We will not allow lawlessness to take root in our cities and towns. I will bring forward legislation that rewards safe cities and towns. Safe communities are those that do not defund their police departments. Law Enforcement Community Standards Act (LECSA)On day one, I will introduce robust legislation that holds cities, counties and states accountable that defund their police.
They will be exempt from federal loans, federal grants and federal programs. This will hold local elected leaders accountable for decimating law enforcement budgets as political stunts. This will be based on metrics such as:
Crime Statistics
Response times
Legislative initiatives
Education proliferation
Minimum staffing requirements
Community incentives and programs

Personally I really like Vince a lot. He have a very common sense approach to everything. He is a proven leader. He’s proven that as a military veteran, dedicated Sheriff’s deputy, mill creek council member will make one heck of a congressmen once he makes his way to DC. When Vince speaks, people listen. His primary focus is on public safety followed by individual rights. He has taken strong stances on both throughout his professional and political career. I’d encourage you to take advantage of his calendar by clicking on his image and find an opportunity to meet him and ask him for yourself, what he will do as our representative. Once again, Vince is not a politician by trade which truly helps him relate to us the American People of which he represents.
Tiffany Smiley
US Senate
I am running for the United States Senate to help Washington families achieve their American Dreams. I believe that now, more than ever, Washingtonians need a voice in finding solutions to their unique problems, and countering Washington, D.C.’s endless divisiveness, radical partisanship, and gridlock.
-
In April of 2005, Tiffany’s dreams changed in an instant. The phone rang, and moments later Tiffany knew that their lives had irrevocably changed forever.Tiffany learned Scotty, while serving America in Iraq, had been severely wounded by a suicide bomber, causing him to fall into a coma and permanently lose sight in both of his eyes. Upon hearing the news, Tiffany immediately booked a flight for Walter Reed Medical Center near Washington, D.C, to be by Scotty’s side. When Tiffany arrived, Scotty was still in trauma care, and she was informed that Scotty would never be able to serve his nation again in uniform. Tiffany was even asked to sign a document, right there on the spot, consenting to Scotty’s immediate discharge from the Army.
The U.S. Military learned about Tiffany’s strength, courage, and resolve that day when she promptly refused. Rather than simply going along with Army protocols and the federal bureaucrats who were insisting she immediately sign the paperwork, Tiffany fought for her husband, his dreams, and for the care she knew he had earned. Tiffany pushed aside her professional dreams to focus on nursing her husband back to health, and fighting to ensure that Scotty’s recovery would not be compromised by inefficient government bureaucracy. She was determined that he would never become just another number in the unreliable VA system. To this day, Tiffany and Scotty have made fighting
to ensure every veteran gets the benefits and care they deserve one of their highest priorities.
The farm girl from rural Washington took on the federal government… and won. Tiffany not only made sure Scotty received the care he needed, but her relentless efforts allowed Scotty to demonstrate that his remarkable abilities greatly outweighed any disability he sustained. Scotty went on to serve as America’s first blind active-duty Army officer, breaking barriers for many who followed along the way. Scotty would also earn his MBA from Duke University and was described by Duke’s Legendary basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski as an American hero.
Tiffany’s positions

From aerospace to information technology, Washington is a leader of American’s 21st century economy. But growing up on a farm, I know Washington’s economy is more than multi-national corporations. Our diverse economy demands common-sense ideas and a commitment to problem solving for the good of our state.
Tax and regulatory reform over the past several years have been a terrific boost to our economy, but the past year has shown us that our economy still demands leadership to ensure our future is bright. We need stronger trade policies like the USMCA that are fair to Washington’s businesses, workers and farmers. At the same time, we must continue regulatory reform and cooperation that ensures we protect our environment and grow our economy. This is critical for Washington’s future.
I will also work with Washington’s vital agriculture community to protect our family farms and ensure that our agricultural industry continues to thrive. Washington farmers can never be put at a competitive disadvantage with other states or countries.
But regardless of whether your family works on a farm or in a high-tech industry, ensuring our economy has the workforce ready to lead us forward must be a priority. This will take education policies that give workers the training they need to succeed in the workplace and immigration reform that secures our border and strengthens Washington’s economy.
-
A suicide bomber in Iraq blinded my husband 16 years ago, but it opened our eyes to the failure of our federal government to protect and support our heroes in uniform. The bureaucracy in Washington, D.C. can overwhelm a Washington State family, and this was something I never truly appreciated until I traveled across the country to care for my husband. I took on the Veterans Administration because they were failing my family, and I won because losing was not an option.
But my family’s story of victory over federal bureaucrats is the exception, rather than the rule. Far too many desperate veteran families face an uncertain future that is filled with mountains of paperwork and excuses. It makes absolutely no sense to burden families who have given so much with so little support from the government they swore an oath to defend.
And while they may not face suicide bombers in our streets, our hometown heroes in blue are equally in need of our support today. Radical efforts to “defund the police” are wrong-headed and undercut the foundation of our lawful society. Our law enforcement and first responders need our support, resources, and improved training to meet the needs of our communities.
Our troops on the frontlines, our veterans on the home front, and our first responders in our communities should be saluted for their sacrifices. I am committed to fighting for our local heroes and ensuring they receive the resources they need at every level of service, because our support is what they deserve.

The 2020 elections raised serious questions about the integrity of our elections and caused millions of Americans to question their confidence in our electoral process. Instead of thoroughly addressing these concerns, uncovering any irregularities and reassuring voters, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have dismissed their frustrations. Even worse, they have doubled-down by ignoring the problems in our system and worse, proposing sweeping changes that would truly put our elections further in jeopardy.
Across the country in Washington, DC, Senator Murray has abandoned her role as a leader for Washington State. Senator Murray is one of the leading proponents of radical changes that would federalize our elections, even allowing for ballot harvesting that would open our voting systems up to rampant fraud and abuse. Let me be clear, I oppose S.1/H.R.1 and I am committed to holding Senator Murray and the far left accountable for this overreach.
What our system needs are commonsense solutions that are overwhelming supported by the American people. Reforms like implementing Voter ID, modernizing local county voting systems to ensure the voter rolls are kept up-to-date, and signature/photo verification on mail-in ballots would strengthen our elections. Just as important, I believe that courts have an obligation to give all evidence of voter fraud a full and fair hearing.
Each day, I'm speaking with voters in every corner of our state who strongly support these reforms to help ensure the integrity of our elections. They want real action taken to ensure that efforts made to increase voter participation do not fundamentally undermine the legitimacy of our democracy. Despite what the Biden Administration believes, there must be confidence that our elections are honest and transparent and that only legally-cast ballots are being counted.
When coupled with making the first Tuesday in November a national federal holiday to enable people to proudly exercise their right to vote on Election Day, these are the type of measures that would return confidence to our electoral process at a time when far too much is dividing us.

As the mother of three boys, I wake up every morning committed to passing on a brighter future to them. And that future begins with their education.
Despite the best efforts of so many of our teachers, the past year of distance and remote learning has shown all of us the holes in our education system. We need to empower Washington families to choose the education that is best for their children. My boys, like your children and grandchildren, have unique talents and face individual challenges, and our education system must work to meet their needs so they can succeed in their futures.
Failures in our education system trickle down to the problems we see every day on our streets. The homelessness, increased crime rates, drug addiction, and poverty in our communities is not something we can turn a blind eye to. This problem demands a solution that lifts people up rather than tying them to yet another failed government program that spends billions of our tax dollars, with little actually reaching those in need.
Real world problems demand common sense solutions. As your senator, I will work each and every day to solve these problems, not take part in the partisan infighting that has paralyzed our government. Our children, our families, and our neighbors deserve more than they are receiving from the federal government, and I am running for the U.S. Senate to serve as our advocate in Washington, DC.
Here are my picks for our surrounding precincts/districts.
please share with your friends who may also be fed up with the current government and need help learning about candidates they usually wouldn’t know to consider. Remember to Vote on election day and track your ballot at votewa.gov.
Leif had a very humble upbringing in a small town in Wisconsin, sometimes without even running water or electricity. He and his brothers were thrilled to be given day old bread and hand me down clothes. This type of upbringing taught him to work hard and always appreciate what he has. As a young man he worked in the tool and die trades and worked his way through school to get his Bachelors in industrial technology. He’s worked for companies both large and small but eventually became a designer, creating his own inventions.
He and his wife brought their family to washington about 10 years ago. He runs his own machine shop as well as teaches the trades at local colleges including the Everett Community College.

Many of our public school curriculums are teaching our children Marxist values, gender confusion and critical race theory. Our public education has no business influencing our children in these matters. Parents need to have full agency to teach their own values and religious practices to their children. We need education that focuses on developing competitive skills, providing our kids with viable futures.
I will work to eliminate Marxist curriculums in our public education systems. I will push for a voucher system, that includes charter schools, to give parents more freedom in their child's education.

America First does not mean we will not help others anymore. It simply means we take care of our people before taking on the world’s problems. We don’t need to be the world’s police or fund the worlds needs while we still have homeless in the streets, veterans neglected, hungry children and poor education standards. We simply need to take care of American’s first and when America is strong and safe, we can extend our arms to those in need elsewhere. In the guise of the need to change our energy dependencies, this current administration has been shutting down oil production and processing in our country. The actual impact of these orders has already resulted in job and industry losses as well as a massive fuel cost increase.
In addition to causing undo suffering upon Americans, this radical policy change is creating a deepening dependency on our resource needs from hostile nations. This leaves us vulnerable to involvement in foreign wars.
Until we have developed and produced alternatives to meet the needs of the American people, we must wisely continue to access our own oil supplies. I will always support American dependency upon her own resources! In the guise of the need to change our energy dependencies, this current administration has been shutting down oil production and processing in our country. Our government causes a lack of financial freedom, resulting in us relying on their programs because they take more money than necessary from our hardworking citizens. This increases government spending. We also outsource an excessive amount of our labor and industry. Countless well-managed companies end up moving away due to the heavy tax burdens currently placed on businesses. This costs us our jobs, industries and resource independence. In turn, we suffer from a lack of skilled workers from high labor costs.
Instead of bailing out large corporations who make poor management decisions, I favor lowering federal taxes for small companies and creating more funding for business development incentives that keep our industries here. I also support reducing tax burdens on our citizens while using tariffs to help fund what is needed to run our governmental agencies, services and programs. Tariffs will assist us in creating industry and jobs in America as we rely more on our own resources and production. I will create incentives for states to develop their own competitive regionally valid trades programs in our High Schools and Post-Secondary settings
-
Our country was founded on the Judeo-Christian understanding that we were all created with the inherent freedom to be able to serve and worship our God in a way that is defined by our individual cultures. The role of the family is to replicate value systems that define and support morality and therefore support moral behavior in a society as a whole.
The Marxist agenda is being used to undermine the credibility of the family establishment by introducing establishments that deviate from the core values of all cultures. These alternate value systems turn children's hearts from the ways of their parents. Once the family’s moral system is broken down, it creates room for a new religious order that is established by the “state”.
I will support policies that allow families the freedom to practice their own value systems, and defund programs that undermine individual family values.
-
In this past decade, we have had an explosive increase in citizens not being able to acquire appropriate housing. Government agencies have tried to step in with affordable housing projects, needle programs or encampments. None of these projects have proven successful so far.
On the other hand, Faith based drug and alcohol counseling, mental health programs, skills development, and affordable housing efforts have shown to have high success rates for helping individuals overcome what stands in the way of them and a viable livelihood.
In addition to incentives for reducing property taxes in Washington State and holding some medical professionals accountable for their opioid trade, I will support programs that are run by local faith-based communities who have proven to be better equipped plus more successful in assisting individual needs.
-
Many policy makers in DC want to take or limit our right to bear arms. The Second Amendment was put in place to assure that our government upholds our constitutional freedoms. If we are unarmed we cannot defend our families against foreign or domestic terrorists. I will support responsible firearm handling training programs for citizens and vote NO to any infringements on American access to firearms, firearm components and ammunition.
-
We have too many career politicians who use their positions in order to serve their own interests. Instead of casting their votes in favor of the American people, they are lining their pockets with lobbyist dollars while pushing their own agendas. We need “every day citizens” to represent us - those who know what it is like to live in our country and are in office for a short time only as a civil service.
In order to avoid the self-serving law maker, I will work to establish TERM LIMITS in our House and Senate!
I, along with other America First candidates, have signed a pledge to commit to 3 terms in Congress and 2 terms in the Senate. Once in office, we can push this initiative forward and pass term limits into law!

Is he is truly an open book. Take a look at his website and you will see exactly where he stands on most every issue you may be concerned about. I listed most above. I spoke with Leif recently and found him to be very consistent in his messaging. He told me he just felt like no candidate was representing him the way he wanted to be represented and because of that he decided to run. Leif is a self made man but much like many of the candidates I like, he isn’t a polished politician but more, he is a normal person. I believe his priorities are straight and most aligned with my own regarding God, family and country.
Bernard Moody
State Senate 38
As a former Marine, a Corrections Professional and a member of our community since 1997, now serving as a Sergeant with the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office, I am running for Senate in the 38th Legislative District to truly represent the people's needs, voices and will in Olympia.
When government becomes bloated it becomes less effective and increases the risk of being mismanaged. Most recently, our freedoms have been impaired, and in some cases removed. Our Constitutional Rights must be upheld. I will fight for the right to live safe and productive lives for ourselves and our families.
In the Senate, I will serve as your voice, advocate your will to my peers, and to represent everyone living in the 38th district.
Please vote for Bernard Moody for your State Senator for District 38.
-
Probably my favorite thing about Bernard is, he is a very relatable person. He shoots it straight with no politician feel about him what so ever. He has a background in the military followed by a career in the prison system. I think he’s seen the best and worst of people in his time. When you talk with Moody, he is very calm, cool and collected while also remaining professional and serious. When he speaks people listen with intent and I appreciate that personally. He is a family man who is tired of seeing our system fail people as some seriously crazy ideologies work their way through our political system. All in all if I lived just a few blocks down the road, I’d definitely be voting for Mr. Bernard Moody.
Matt Larkin
US Congress District 8
I am running for Congress because as a lifelong Washingtonian, and father of four small children, I believe my family and yours deserve a better and safer Washington. For too long, Washington has been heading in the wrong direction. Crime continues to rise. Drug abuse is out of control. And the homeless situation in our state has hit a breaking point. Yet, no one is doing anything about it. Our state is in desperate need of a leader to step-up to the plate and take these issues head on. We need commonsense solutions, not more job-killing tax hikes and reckless spending. I am ready to fight back against those who have turned a blind eye to the issues plaguing our state, the issues that no one ever seems to deal with. I love Washington. I was born and raised here and want my children to have the same opportunities I had growing up. I am running for Congress to fight for you and to fight for our future, because Washington is worth fighting for.
-
His family is from Washington and they’ve lived here for over 165 years. He loves his home and is a proud Washingtonian. He and his wife Shelly are proud parents of four young children.

Matt went to law school at Gonzaga University. He later earned a Master’s of Law Degree (LLM), from George Washington University School of Law. He had the honor of working in the White House before returning home to Washington to join his family’s manufacturing business. He is an experienced attorney, an active member of the Washington and Oregon Bar Associations, and is licensed to practice law in both states. Matt’s experience also includes a brief time serving as a criminal Prosecutor where he worked every day to make Washington a safer place to live.
-

outdoors, riding bikes and kayaking with his family. Matt also coaches his children in YMCA youth basketball and little league baseball. The Larkin Family are members at Timberlake Church and they are actively involved in the community, including helping charities that support our first responders, the homeless and victims of domestic violence. He also sits on the Board of Trustees at the Evergreen Health Foundation.
-
Washington can’t continue to go in this same direction. Washingtonians need a fresh perspective and commonsense solutions to the problems facing our state. Washington deserves a Congressman who will fight for them because Washington is worth fighting for.
